From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Ouija Board's Classic claims were enhanced without her having to set foot on a racecourse after Rave Reviews and Sahool franked her form with a one-two at Newbury yesterday.

Ouija Board's Classic claims were enhanced without her having to set foot on a racecourse after Rave Reviews and Sahool franked her form with a one-two at Newbury yesterday.

The two fillies were third and second behind six-length scorer Ouija Board in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket earlier this month. Rave Reviews certainly did the form no harm when beating Sahool by three parts of a length in the Swettenham Stud Fillies' Trial.

The pair finished clear of Crystal Curling and the favourite Winds Of March, who was later found to be in season.

Bookmakers were united in cutting the price of Ouija Board for the Oaks, with William Hill going 8-1 from 10-1 and Coral now just 6-1 from 8-1.

Rave Reviews can be backed at 33-1, but Epsom may not be on her agenda. "There's nothing wrong with her form and when you win a Listed race like this there is only one way to go, and that is up," said her trainer John Dunlop, the father of Ouija Board's handler Ed. "But I'm not sure Epsom would suit her, so something like the Ribblesdale is more likely."
