Point-to-point: Cannon Bridge reunited with Jones in bid to extend winning run to 14
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Regular rider Dai Jones was unavailable when the eight-year-old made his seasonal reappearance at Erw Lon last month, but resumes the partnership.
Evan Williams, whose wife Cath trains Cannon Bridge, said last night: "We felt he didn't have enough experience for the Cheltenham Foxhunters - to be honest he has not had much to beat in some of his races - and he will run in the Lady Dudley Cup at Chaddesley Corbett in three weeks time. Then we'll find a novice hunter-chase.
"He's been getting into bad habits over the smaller fences in Welsh points, but if he copes with the bigger ones under Rules then he'll go for the John Corbett at Stratford in May."
Today's Oakley meeting at Brafield-on-the-Green has been postponed due to waterlogging and even though some of the entries in the men's open there may be re-routed to Wales to provide stiffer than usual opposition, front-running Cannon Bridge is hard to peg back.
The 'Kent National', a four-mile mixed open, is the feature of tomorrow's Detling, near Maidstone, fixture and last year's winner, The Grey Baron, is among the 18 entries. However, the marathon looks ideal for East Anglian raider Lord Valnic, who kept on well to finish a three-quarter length to the progressive subsequent winner Rebel Army at Ampton.
* Last Sunday's Cottesmore meeting at Garthorpe, which was cancelled due to frost, has been rearranged for Sunday, 2 April.
