In cricket, a top-of-the-table clash between Durham and the neutrals' favourites Lancashire. At Wentworth, the PGA ends – if anyone from England wins, they become world No 1.

Tomorrow

The £90 zillion match between Reading and Swansea. West Ham police are praying for a Reading win so they don't have Swansea, Cardiff, Birmingham, Millwall, Crystal Palace and Leeds all heading for Upton park next season – early kick-offs every week guaranteed.

Tuesday

Fabio Capello rocks up at Watford to say how important the qualifier with Switzerland is, and to ask the fitter-looking members of the press corps (two) to bring their boots just in case.

Wednesday

In Zurich, Fifa's executive committee vote for their next leader. The least-corrupt candidate wins.
