Barry Hearn has said he wants a central role in the future of the game after Sir Rodney Walker failed in his attempt to be re-elected as chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association [WSPBA] yesterday.
Hearn said: "I relish the opportunity to revitalise the sport of snooker in the ensuing months. At this stage all I can promise the membership of the WPBSA is total transparency. Today is the beginning of a new era in snooker – we start now."
