Phil Taylor will pay for 16 darts players of varying ages and abilities to compete for places on the professional circuit.

Taylor's scheme will see the players sent to the Professional Darts Players Association Qualifying School. They will be selected from competitions and regional finals to be held across the United Kingdom.

"It could be anybody," said the 15-time world champion. We are looking for someone who is like a sponge, in that they soak up information and advice. It doesn't matter what age they are or what their ability is."
