Charlotte Dujardin became the undisputed queen of dressage by adding the World Championship to her World Cup, European and Olympic Gold medals.

The unprecedented achievement confirms her partnership with Valegro, her dancing horse, as one of the greatest of all time.

Coming into the games as favourites, the partnership had to be at their best to fend of the dual German challenge of Kritina Sprehe on Desperados and Helen Langehanenberg, Gold medallists form yesterday’s team event, by posting an impressive score of 86.120

The victory compounded a golden day for team GB as Lee Pearson also placed first in the Para Dressage 1B class which meant the British team moved up the medal board finishing day three of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games on top of the table.

Charlotte’s focus will now be the freestyle dressage Grand Prix on Friday where she will be aiming to win her second gold of the games and further cement her place among the record books.
