Conor McGregor has broken his silence after being arrested in New York last week – posting a picture of his family and telling his fans on Instagram that he “has the best job in the world”.

McGregor appeared in a New York City courtroom last week on charges of assault, following a violent backstage fracas after a press event at UFC 223.

He is charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief, after the altercation in a parking lot at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn which left two UFC fighters injured.

He was released from custody on bail and ordered to return for a court hearing on June 14, with his bail set at $50k.

McGregor has kept out of the public eye since then, but broke his silence on Friday with a message about his family.

He shared a picture of himself and his girlfriend, Dee Devlin, at a restaurant with their son, Conor Jr.

“I have the best job in the world looking after my family,” the accompanying caption read.

“If we all look after our own, we are all looked after.”

McGregor is due back in court on June 14.
