Conor McGregor lawsuit: Woman files multimillion-dollar personal injury claim against UFC star, says attorney

Your support makes all the difference.UFC star Conor McGregor is facing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit from a woman alleging personal injury, it has been reported.
The matter relates to events said to have taken place in 2018.
The woman’s attorney, Dave Coleman, told ESPN on Tuesday that the lawsuit had been filed at Dublin’s High Court on Monday.
The mother of the woman in question has also filed a lawsuit – a smaller claim, also reported to allege personal injury – against former UFC champion McGregor, Coleman said.
“The matter is before the courts,” said the attorney, who could not provide further details.
An associate of McGregor is listed as the co-defendant in the case, which was first reported by the Irish Independent.
The Republic of Ireland’s national police service, An Garda Siochana, investigated the matter but no charges were brought against McGregor, 32, who has denied any wrongdoing.
“After an exhaustive investigation conducted by the Gardai which, in addition to interviews of the plaintiff, included interviewing numerous sources, obtaining witnesses’ statements, examining closed circuit footage and the cooperation of Conor McGregor, these allegations were categorically rejected,” read a statement by McGregor’s spokesperson Karen Kessler.
“The plaintiff knows the facts contradict the assertions in this lawsuit. Mr. McGregor will dispute any claims and is confident that justice will prevail.”
McGregor will compete for the first time in 12 months when he headlines UFC 257 this Saturday. The Irishman is set to face Dustin Poirier at lightweight, over six years since he defeated the American via first-round TKO in a featherweight bout.
Coleman said there was “no specific reason” for the lawsuit being filed this week.
UFC 257 will take place at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on Yas Island, otherwise known as ‘Fight Island’, with 2,000 fans in attendance.
In 2019, the Irishman was fined €1,000 for punching a man in the face at a pub, with the assault recorded on video.
In 2018, McGregor was arrested in Brooklyn after throwing a dolly at a UFC bus containing several fighters.
