Mutafaweq And Air Shakur were yesterday withdrawn from Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp. Eleven remain in the race, but Raypour, Sinndar's pacemaker, will be supplemented today. Karasta, favourite with some bookmakers for next year's 1,000 Guineas, is entered for the the Prix Marcel Boussac, while Petrushka and Love Divine are in the Prix de l'Opera over a mile and a quarter. Pipalong, Bertolini, Sampower Star and the two-year-old Superstar Leo are in the five-furlong Prix de l'Abbaye.

Montjeu heads 28 acceptors for the Champion Stakes over a mile and a quarter at Newmarket on 14 October. Owner Michael Tabor has said that either Montjeu or Giant's Causeway could run. Sakhee, and Kalinisi are other entries. Aidan O'Brien's 18 in the Dewhurst Stakes over seven furlongs at Newmarket include Mozart, Minardi, Beckett and Hemingway. Other entries are Tobougg, Nayef and Vacamonte. First Officer is out of the Cesarewitch. Fifty-five remain in the 2m2f handicap, including Barba Papa, the 7-1 favourite.
