Slough will today play An der Alster from Hamburg in the Women's European Cup Winners Cup competition in Rotterdam while in Terrassa Surbiton will face Poctowiec from Poland with bronze medals at stake for both clubs.

The hero of Surbiton's performance in their 4-2 win against An der Alster, the European Club champions, today was the 19-year-old Matt Daly who scored twice in the opening six minutes.

The Germans pulled a goal back in the 18th minute as Thomas Tihl scored the first of his two goals following up at a penalty corner. Surbiton. however, soon responded with goals from Tim Pinnick and an inspired effort from Ivan Steen which took them into the interval leading 4-1. Thomas' second goal came in the closing minutes with Surbiton tiring after their super effort.

In Rotterdam, Slough produced a disappointing performance in their final pool game against Grange, from Edinburgh, when they were surprisingly beaten 1-0. A 43rd-minute goal from Claire Lampard separated the clubs.
