Cannock overtook Reading to go top of the National League Premier Division, beating the Berkshire club 4-2.

Three goals up inside 18 minutes through Simon Organ, Andy Brogdon and Matt Taylor, Cannock saw their lead reduced by Jonty Clarke who scored twice from the penalty spot before Andy Humphrey struck back for Cannock.

Loughborough students moved into third place on goal difference, hammering bottom of the table Doncaster 9-0. Jon Bleby struck three times with Chris Graham, Jason Lee and Tim Benford all scoring twice.

Old Loughtonians extended their lead at the top of the First Division to five points, beating Brookland 7-1. Beeston, their closest rivals, were held to a 3-3 draw by Firebrands.

At the other end of the division Stourport recorded their first victory, beating Barford Tigers 6-0 with Imran Yousaf scoring three penalty corners.

In the Second Division, leaders Bowdon put five goals past Oxford Hawks without reply.
