Legendary hall of fame boxing promoter Bob Arum says that he takes ‘no issue’ from KSI and Logan Paul turning professional for their 9 November bout.

The two YouTube giants – with a combined following of well over 40 million people, have signed off and announced a fight that will take place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, the same venue that has hosted the likes of Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title match up against Tyson Fury.

KSI and Paul fought last year in an amateur bout which saw over 18,000 attend the Manchester Evening News Arena and north of 1 million pay-per-view buys, a rarity in the boxing business.

But it’s turning professional that has turned heads and caused controversy, unlike the first contest this one will have no headguards and just 10oz gloves, putting both men at increased risk of causing damage.

One man who isn’t so bothered about the fight, however, is Top Rank’s Arum.

The 87-year-old has promoted the likes of Muhammad Ali, Marvin Hagler vs Roberto Durán and Evander Holyfield vs George Foreman among many others – but isn’t bothered about the two 20-something-year-olds turning professional despite their extremely limited experience.

“Let me tell you, I don’t know who the f*** those two guys are, and I don’t give a s*** about them,” said Bob Arum to Ring Magazine.

“If they make a buck in the ring, who the hell cares? There are things in life to get excited about and this is not one of them. Who gives a s***? People wanna pay to watch them, I take no issue. Now, I never heard of them, but that shows how far removed I am from popular culture.”

In typical nonchalant fashion, when quizzed about whether the fight would at least bring eyes to the sport, Arum wasn’t so optimistic.

“That ain’t gonna happen.

“They have these ‘beefs’ then they talk about setting up a fight to make a buck… the answer is, who cares? If people wanna watch, wanna pay, God love ’em.”

Got to love Bob.
