Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Zab Judah has dismissed claims that he floored Floyd Mayweather in sparring this week as the unbeaten American prepares to face Manny Pacquiao on 2 May.
Mayweather's advisor Leonard Ellerbe has also denied that it happened.
The 38-year-old Mayweather has only ever been officially knocked down once in his career, in the sixth round against Carlos Hernandez in May 2001, but he recovered to win that by a unanimous decision.
Reports this week claimed that Judah, who Mayweather defeated on points back in 2006, had got the better of him recently in sparring, but both Judah and Ellerbe have been quick to refute this.
Ellerbe told Sky Sports News HQ: "False. No. Zab is in camp. Zab is a tremendous fighter - he’s been helping with the preparations along with several other sparring partners.
“They are really pushing Floyd, but nothing like that. It never happened.”
The report, which emerged early yesterday morning, had suggested that it was a "left hook to the body" which knocked the "Money Man" down.
