Callum Smith looks to move a step closer to his dream fight next year with victory over John Ryder

Smith puts his WBA and WBC world super-middleweight titles on the line for a second time since grabbing them in a career-defining win over George Groves.

The Liverpudlian could face Brits Billy Joe Saunders or Chris Eubank Jr next year, or hold out for a monster fight against world stars Canelo Alvarez or Gennady Golovkin.

Ryder presents a risky title defence first though.

Here's everything you need to know about the fight.

When and where is the fight?

The fight is on Saturday, November 23 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

What channel is the fight on?

The fight will be on Sky Sports Action (from 19:00 GMT) and Sky Sports Main Event (from 20:30 GMT). Expect the fight to start at about 22:30 (GMT) with ring walks just after 22:00.

Is there a live stream?

Yes, you can watch a live stream if you are a Sky Sports subscriber on the Sky Go app on mobile devices.

You can also watch a stream as a non-Sky customer by purchasing a pass on NowTV.

Odds

Smith 1/16

Draw 25/1

Undercard

Craig Glover vs Chris Billam-Smith - vacant Commonwealth cruiserweight title

Anthony Fowler vs Harry Scarff

Tom Farrell vs Sean Dodd

Thomas Whittaker Hart vs Josip Perkovic

Tom Aitchison vs TBA

Marcos Molloy vs TBA

Prediction

Ryder has battled hard for this opportunity and proven to be a big puncher, stopping four successive opponents since his loss to Rocky Fielding in 2017, all of whom were either unbeaten or had just one defeat.

But while Ryder is a small super middleweight, Smith is huge at 168 pounds and possesses a smart jab too, so look for Smith to control the tempo and have the chance to stop this late on between rounds 10-12.
