Frank Maloney and his new hope David Haye will begin their promotional relationship on 24 March at York Hall with a fight that looks exceptional on paper.
Maloney and the European cruiserweight champion Haye formally announced their friendship last week when Maloney stopped working for Frank Warren's Sports Network company and Haye found himself without a promoter and more disturbingly without any direction.
Haye will defend his title against Denmark's Lasse Johansen at the East London venue and Maloney, a major player in the career of Lennox Lewis, admits he is excited by his new charge.
"When I started as Lennox's manager nobody gave us a chance and for the first time in years I feel like I have a challenge and I like that," Maloney said.
