The main event at York Hall, Bethnal Green, tonight involves a Ghanaian with five fights on his record in a Commonwealth title match, but the main attraction is another five-fight novice, David Haye.
At 22 and with five knockouts, Haye is developing into an ideal pro with a degree of ferocity in the ring that equals his debonair post-fight persona. Haye is a serious prospect and he knows it.
Tonight he meets Chesterfield's battle-worn but usually durable Greg Scott-Briggs at cruiserweight in an ideal fight that should last more than the 54 seconds he needed in his last mismatch but is unlikely to last the full distance of eight rounds.
In the nominal main event Charles Adamu fights Southampton's Matthew Barney for the vacant Commonwealth super-middleweight title.
