Basketball: Sharks prepare by breaking Rocks
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Sheffield Sharks, after surrendering their British Basketball League championship title with a run of seven defeats in 10 games, began warming up for the end-of-season play-offs with a 96-94 overtime win against Scottish Rocks on Saturday.
The Sharks clinched the runners-up spot with Friday's 112-73 romp at Newcastle Eagles, then needed a three-pointer from Nate Reinking with 16 seconds left against the Rocks to force overtime at 85-85. A 7-0 burst then pushed the Sharks to victory as Rob Yanders led their scorers with 26 points.
Brighton Bears won 110-88 at Birmingham Bullets and will have a home quarter-final against eighth-placed Milton Keynes Lions, who beat Leicester Riders 85-75 on Saturday.
The Eagles followed Friday's loss with a 97-89 defeat at Thames Valley. Chester Jets completed a clean sweep over London Towers with a 102-93 win which could be enough to give them home advantage in the quarter-finals.
