Basketball: O'Neal remains cheerful

Shaquille O'Neal and his Los Angeles Lakers unexpectedly found themselves 2-0 down in their semi-final play-off series against San Antonio Spurs in the NBA's Western Conference following Wednesday night's 114-95 defeat. "We're in a dangerous spot," O'Neal said. "But this team can bounce back. We now have to take care of business in Los Angeles."

At East Rutherford, New Jersey, Richard Jefferson scored 25 points as New Jersey Nets held off Boston Celtics to take a 2-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference semi-final with a 104-95 victory.
