Oscar Pistorius's representatives confirmed the substance found in his bedroom after the shooting death of his girlfriend as Testis compositum, and said it is a herbal remedy used "in aid of muscle recovery".
It is also marketed in both oral and injectable forms as a testosterone booster and a sexual enhancer, but is not on the World Anti-Doping Agency's banned list.
South African police said during Pistorius's bail hearing that they had found needles in his bedroom along with the substance, incorrectly named as testosterone.
