Mo Farah ‘happy to have samples retested anytime’ as Briton reiterates innocence

The former Olympic champion has denied ever taking banned substances after previously working with Alberto Salazar

Sir Mo Farah has reiterated his openness to have any of his previous samples for drugs tests retested.

UK Anti-Doping outlined their intent to fight the World Anti-Doping Agency’s efforts to seize any of Farah’s urine and blood samples in an investigation into athletes trained by disgraced trainer Alberto Salazar.

Farah, who won double gold at both the London and Rio Olympics, has never failed a drugs test and strenuously denied ever taking performance enhancing drugs.

And now Farah has come out to emphasise his willingness to cooperate with any future investigation.

Farah said: “I’ve seen reports of my name in connection to UKAD and WADA about sample retesting.

“Just to be clear, I was not consulted about this and as I’ve said many times, I am happy for any anti-doping body to test any of my previous samples anytime.”

Farah recently spoke about his legacy and denied his association with Salazar would impact it.

“Had I had known the news, what Salazar did, it’s taken four years, had I known that sooner I would have been the first one out,” Farah told the BBC.

“That’s the bit that’s kind of annoying, I wish I’d known quicker.

“I haven’t been part of Salazar for the last two years and I believe me and my coach Gary Lough are going to go out there and do the best that we can.”
