The 26.2-mile race will take place on 24 April 2016.
How to enter?
The most common way to enter is through the London Marathon ballot. The results are usually announced around October.
More than 120,000 applications were entered in the ballot alone for the 2015 marathon.
To apply, the entry system for the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon will open online on Monday, May 4 2015, at virginlondonmarathon.com.
Race for a charity
If your ballot entry fails, you may be able to secure a charity entry place. To apply for a charity place, you'll need to contact your chosen charity directly to see if they've got any places to offer you.
