Natalie Melmore struck gold in the women's lawn bowls singles final in Delhi today.

The 21-year-old from Torquay beat New Zealand's Val Smith to claim England's second gold of the Games at the JN Sports Complex.

Melmore won the first set 7-6 and then ran away with the second, taking it 11-2 to clinch the gold before runing to the side of the rink for tearful celebrations with her family.

Melmore's golden moment followed on from the Day Eight triumph of Ellen Falkner and Amy Monkhouse in the women's pairs.

Meanwhile in the men's singles bronze medal match Northern Ireland's Gary Kelly beat England's Sam Tolchard.
