On Sunday, his streak of at least one catch in 274 consecutive games - longer than most players' entire careers - came to an end in his side's victory over Buffalo. While his team got the right result, Rice was furious that he had contributed nothing. "I will just have to start another one and get another 200," he said.
Elsewhere, the Chicago Bears' rookie head coach, Lovie Smith, saw his side beat the Green Bay Packers 21-10 in the upset of the weekend.
The biggest surprises continue to be Detroit and Jacksonville. The Lions beat Houston 28-16, thanks to three touchdowns fromJoey Harrington, cousin of Ryder Cup golfer Padraig. As for Jacksonville, they beat Denver 7-6 after the Broncos fumbled a field-goal chance in the final minute.
