The first-half was one of the most shocking 45 minutes of football ever witnessed, with Joachim Low's cerebral side comprehensively battering the hosts.
Toni Kroos scored twice, alongside strikes from Sami Khedira, Thomas Muller and Miroslav Klose. With his goal, Klose became the highest goalscorer in World Cup history with his 16th effort.
All of the first-half goals were scored before even 30 minutes had been played.
In the second half Andre Schurrle got in on the act to take the score to 7-0 before Oscar scored a consolation.
