Jurgen Klinsmann, Didier Drogba and Pablo Zabaleta will add an international perspective from the Match of the Day studio in Moscow's Red Square, where Gary Lineker will lead the coverage.
The BBC will televise 33 live games, including England's two opening Group G matches against Tunisia and Panama on June 18 and 24 respectively.
Vicki Sparks will become the first woman to commentate on a World Cup game for British television during the tournament, which gets under way when the hosts Russia take on Saudi Arabia on June 14.
ITV announced their punditry team a day earlier, with Gary Neville the focal point of their coverage.
He’ll join former Manchester United teammates Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra in Russia this summer, along with ITV regulars Ian Wright and Lee Dixon.
Eniola Aluko, Henrik Larsson, Martin O'Neill and Slaven Biliic complete the line-up.
