One of the fans photographed jumping on top of an ambulance after England’s victory against Sweden has been identified, police have confirmed.

The woman was seen on top of a response vehicle, which was left with a smashed windscreen and dented bonnet, while medical staff attended a call in central London.

After being damaged by the mob of unruly revellers, the vehicle was left unroadworthy and paramedics appealed for help identifying people behind the vandalism.

“We’re delighted with the result, but this has put a big dampener on the celebrations for us,” the London Ambulance Service tweeted.

“While our officer attended a call nearby, this car was damaged in Borough High Street during the celebrations after the game – it’s now off the road to be repaired.”

After the service sent out a plea for help with identifying the woman, who was one of several seen jumping on the vehicle, the message quickly spread around social media.

On Sunday night, a local policing team in Poplar, Tower Hamlets, tweeted: "Identified. Many thanks to all for sharing. Now it's our turn."

The Metropolitan Police did not immediately respond to a request for information on whether the woman has been arrested or charged.

While many observers were pleased that one of the perpetrators had been caught, others accused the police of focusing on one woman when numerous members of the public were seen engaging in reckless activities following the match.

Several men were also photographed on the ambulance’s roof, with crowds of fans cheering them on. One sported a Gareth Southgate-style waistcoat.

People across the country were seen jumping on emergency vehicles and buses, as well as bringing traffic to a standstill as they danced through the streets.

Elsewhere in London, fans entered the Stratford branch of Ikea and jumped on the beds before being escorted away by security.
