England will now play either Russia or Croatia in the World Cup 2018 semi-finals on Wednesday 11 July 2018.
The game takes place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, kicking off at 7.00pm.
They will then play in either the third place play-off on 14 July at 3.00pm, or the World Cup final on 15 July at 4pm.
Wednesday’s match in Moscow will be just the third World Cup semi-final England have played in the 88 year history of the Fifa World Cup.
In 1990 England beat Cameroon 3-2 after extra-time only to lose on penalty kicks to Germany in the World Cup semi-final.
England then lost 2-1 to Italy in the third place play-off.
In 1966 a brace from Bobby Charlton saw England beat Eusébio’s Portugal 2-1, before that famous 4-2 win over West Germany after extra-time at Wembley.
