West Ham 1-1 Crystal Palace: Odsonne Edouard was gifted an equaliser as the points were shared at the London Stadium
West Ham scored early but were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
West Ham took the lead in the 13th minute when James Ward-Prowse played a pass out wide to Vladimir Coufal on the right who cut it back to Mohammed Kudus in the area and his first time shot found the bottom corner via a small deflection.
Palace’s equaliser came in the 53rd minute with West Ham looking to play it out from the back, but a stray pass from Konstantinos Mavropanos was picked up by Odsonne Edouard who raced into the box and fired his shot into the far corner.
The home side finished stronger and had chances late on to take all three points, but Palace held out for a well-earned draw.
The Hammers remained ninth in the standings, on 21 points, while Palace moved up to 12th on 16 points.

It's a chance for the Hammers as Aguerd finds Bowen with a superb throughball beyond the Palace defence. The England international closes in on the goalkeeper and looks to lift it over Johnstone, but he can't get enough height on his shot and the Palace keeper is able to collect.

West Ham are in the lead despite having just one touch inside the opposition box since the game got under way. That's all Kudus needed to fire his side in front. Palace have made more opportunities, managing three off-target shots, but are yet to test Areola between the sticks.

Guehi switches play and finds Olise on the right-hand side who delivers towards the back post. Mitchell finds Ayew in the box with a first-time pass and the Palace forward plays a one-two with Hughes, but Alvarez dives in to block his shot and West Ham are able to clear the danger.

Palace have an opportunity to fill the box as they quickly push for the equaliser. Olise whips it towards the back post from the left-hand side, but Edouard can't quite get there as he strectches for it near the byline, and it goes behind for a goal-kick. Hodgson will need a quick reaction from his team.

Palace win a free-kick deep inside the Palace half as Ward-Prowse is adjudged to have handled the ball. Olise is the player to take and he whips it towards the back post. Andersen wins the knock down, heading it straight to Edouard who volleys, but it flies past the post. It was a difficult chance for the striker who just couldn't guide it towards the goal.

The Hammers are having a spell of possession now but are struggling to find space between the lines to break Palace down. Hodgson's side are looking compact in the middle of the pitch and making things difficult for Moyes' men.

Olise wins a foul as Paqueta trips him inside the West Ham half. Palace fill the box with Olise standing over the free-kick. He delivers towards the back post and it eventually falls to Ward on the edge of the area who strikes it, but the Hammers are able to block the shot and clear.

Olise gets the better of Paqueta on the right-hand side and drives towards the byline. The Palace winger sends a cross into the box, but Areola is able to come out and collect and West Ham regain possession. The Eagles have enjoyed more of the ball in the opening few minutes of the game.
