Ibrahimovic will become one of the most sought-after free agents at the end of the season when his current contract with PSG expires. With no plans yet to extend his stay in the Paris, Ibrahimovic has hinted at a move to England, although he has not ruled out the possibility of staying with his current club.
The Mirror reports that the Sweden international has been offered to Arsenal though, and given the Gunners’ struggles to score in recent weeks, a forward of the calibre of Ibrahimovic would certainly boost their front-line options.
Both Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are currently having to make do with substitute appearances after going through a period of poor form, with manager Arsene Wenger electing to deploy Danny Welbeck as a lead striker despite the England international missing nearly 10 months with injury before returning to action last month.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are believed to be interested in the 34-year-old too, and while he would appeal to almost any side in the world, it would certainly be a surprise to see Arsene Wenger move for Ibrahimovic given his astronomical salary.
The 111-time capped Swede earns in the region of €300,000-a-week [£235,000] and would represent a significant increase to Arsenal’s current wage structure, which sees Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez stand as the club’s highest earners on £140,000-a-week.
It’s added that Ibrahimovic would prefer a move to London, giving both Arsenal and Chelsea a slight advantage over their rivals in the transfer market, but it’s also known that former Blues manager Jose Mourinho would be keen to sign Ibrahimovic should he find himself in the United job in the near future.
