Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa has decided not to renew his contract and will join West Ham in the summer, according to a report today.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has been eager to recruit a left-back, trying desperately to sign Blackburn's Martin Olsson during the January transfer window.

Allardyce missed out on his target last month but appears to have a new arrival sewn up for the summer according to the Daily Mail.

Should Figueroa make the switch to Upton Park at the end of the season, he will become the second player in as many summers to run down his contract at the DW Stadium and move to East London, following Mohamed Diame who moved before the start of the current campaign.

The 29-year-old Honduran international has made 140 Premier League appearances for the Latics, scoring three goals.
