West Ham United transfer news: Hammers offered Samuel Eto'o as Sam Allardyce also pursues Hugo Almeida
Hammers remain interested but player's wage demands are a problem

West Ham United have been offered the opportunity to sign former Barcelona and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o on a free transfer - but the 33-year-old is understood to want £100,000-a-week.
Sam Allardyce is under increasing scrutiny at Upton Park after appearing to be on a collision course with the club's hierarchy over Andy Carroll and Ravel Morrison.
David Sullivan, West Ham's co-owner, had labelled the £15m signing of Carroll a 'mistake' during an interview with talkSPORT while also indicating that the board disagree with their manager over Morrison's future.
According to the Daily Mail, Allardyce has opened talks with Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida but the 30-year-old has options in both the Bundesliga and La Liga.
Eto'o, on the other hand, is a free agent after leaving Stamford Bridge this summer and is thought to prefer staying in London.
Under Jose Mourinho's management at the Blues last season, Eto'o managed 12 goals in 35 appearances but was deemed surplus to requirements as Chelsea signed Diego Costa and Didier Drogba.
Juventus are also said to be interested in securing the former Inter Milan forward's services while Queens Park Rangers have been linked with an ambitious move too.
Allardyce is keen to strengthen amid reports that he only has ten games to prove his worth at Upton Park and expects to sign Carl Jenkinson on loan from Arsenal despite interest from Europa League qualifiers Hull City.
