It was reported this morning that Arsenal are planning a shock £20m move for Watford captain Troy Deeney this month, and unsurprisingly his name soon started trending.

However, the Gunners faithful did not seem too pleased with the news, far from it gathering from the general consensus.

The 27-year-old Deeney has scored six goals in his last 11 Premier League games, and a striker is needed to bolster the Gunners attack, which features just Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud at present.

Wenger has said that he is looking to sign two players in this transfer window, the other being Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who will reportedly undergo a medical ahead of his £7.4m move today.

The Swiss side Basel have confirmed that Elneny is set to move away from the club before the end of the week.
