Southend Utd

The financially crippled League Two side have put manager Steve Tilson (left) on gardening leave. The Shrimpers are currently battling debts of £200,000 but say they will honour the remaining year of Tilson's contract. The 43-year-old took charge at Roots Hall in 2003.

Middlesbrough

Kris Boyd will have a medical today ahead of finalising a two-year deal with the club. "I'm delighted to have my future sorted out," the 26-year-old former Rangers striker said. "Middlesbrough have always been very appealing and I'm looking forward to starting my Boro career."

Newcastle Utd

The striker Andy Carroll has dismissed reports he will leave the the club this summer. The 21-year-old hit 19 goals last season and is set to sign a lucrative new contract. "Newcastle are the only team for me," he said.

Parma

Valeri Bojinov has joined Parma from Manchester City. The Bulgarian had an impressive loan spell at the Serie A club last season. The 24-year-old striker made just 13 appearances for City since joining in August 2007.
