Newcastle are reportedly in pole position to take Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha on loan.
Alan Pardew has one more long-term domestic loan spot available and is keen to add the out of favour youngster to his squad until the end of the season.
Newcastle are long time admirers of Zaha and tried to sign him from Crystal Palace last season only to be foiled by Man United's hefty £15m bid.
However despite earning an England call up and two international caps, Zaha has played only two Premier League games since his high-profile move and David Moyes has admitted he may need to go out on loan to get some football.
However the Magpies may face competition for the forward from Everton although Roberto Martinez's men are also said to be interested in former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.
Zaha's lack of games at United has appeared curious to some fans, particularly given the struggles of other players in the side in his position, and they will be hoping that a productive loan spell can help him to regain his manager's confidence.
