Manchester United winger Nani is reportedly on his way out of the club with former side Sporting Lisbon said to have joined the race for his signature.
Having started only five games this season, the Portuguese winger does not appear to be in David Moyes' first team plans and a January exit seems inevitable.
The 27-year-old has already been linked with moves to Juventus and Inter Milan this window and now Sporting have stated they would be keen to take the player back.
Sporting president, Bruno de Carvalho admitted that the club would be keen on taking the player back.
“Honestly I’m surprised with this because we have not had any official news from United or the agent," he said.
“Nani is a former player and always be welcome here.
"If there is any chance we would be happy.”
