Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has told Newcastle United that he values Loic Remy - currently on loan at St. James' Park - to be 'worth double' the £8m he spent on the Frenchman last January.

Remy has been on loan with the Magpies since the start of the season, scoring ten goals in nineteen games, and Alan Pardew has expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old on a permanent basis.

In contrast to Pardew's wishes, Remy is keeping his options open after admitting that he 'misses' playing in the Champions League.

Redknapp, whose Rangers side are five points adrift of leaders Leicester City in the Championship, is aware that he holds all of the cards.

He said: "You would think they (Newcastle) would want to snap him up because if they don’t somebody else will for that money.

"We paid £8million and he’s worth double that because the goals he’s scored in the Premier League.

"He would be a great player if he came back, but he wanted to go. He’s not going to want to come back here and play in the Championship.

"If someone came in and offered £15m or £16m for him I would sell him if it was my choice."
