From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Hello! Welcome along to our transfer live blog for another day of mid to low-octane gossip and rumours. And we start in the East Midlands, where Manchester United target James Maddison has reportedly told Leicester he wants to stay at the King Power (for now, at least).
The midfielder has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, including the likes of United, Liverpool and Tottenham, and could fetch as much as £60m in the transfer market.
But, having arrived at Leicester just 12 months, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Maddison has told the club's chiefs he is content to stay with the former Premier League champions.
Good on you, James.
Matthijs de Ligt will make a decision on his future within the next week, according to reports, with five clubs vying to persuade the teenager to play for them next season, none of which seem to be Ajax. He's definitely moving, it seems, but where?
PSG and Barcelona are now thought to be the frontrunners but recent reports suggest Liverpool are interested and considering an 11th hour bid. Manchester United and Juventus are the other two clubs said to be keen to entice the defender.
He had looked set to join former teammate Frenkie de Jong at the Nou Camp before he reportedly upped his wage demands. That gave hope to United but De Ligt will only join a club in the Champions League.
“I’m very excited for what could be coming in the near future,” he said last week.
Tottenham have reportedly been offered Julian Draxler as a potential Christian Eriksen replacement - should the Dane leave the club this summer.
Eriksen went public on his wish to leave Spurs this week, with Inter Milan weighing up whether to rival Real Madrid for his signature.
And according to the Daily Star, PSG are ready to make the most of the situation in offloading Draxler - who is surplus to requirements in Paris - for an expected £35m.
Manchester City are looking to make a move for Juventus' Joao Cancelo, according to reports.
The Premier League champions are allegedly in talks with the Serie A side over a £44m for the Brazilian, who Goal say is keen to make the switch.
Juve have started looking for replacements for Cancelo, identifying Tottenham's Kieran Trippier and Napoli's Elseid Hysaj as possible alternatives.
Danilo could also be an option. The full-back came close to moving to Turin from Real Madrid before eventually settling upon Manchester in 2017.
Youri Tielemans is a transfer target for Manchester United should Paul Pogba leave this summer.
The French midfielder is said by many to have become frustrated at United, with his primary concern their inability to challenge for the Premier League title any time soon.

Neymar has reportedly rejected a transfer to Real Madrid and told PSG that he only wants to return to former club Barcelona.
The Brazilian left the Nou Camp in 2017 but, having been frustrated by PSG's lack of success in Europe, Neymar is eager to head back to Spain.
Real’s President Florentino Perez and his assistant, Jose Angel Sanchez, have both tried - and failed - to convince Neymar to join them at the Santiago Bernabeu.
According to Spanish outlet Sport, Neymar has told PSG that he’s either moving to Barcelona - or he’s going nowhere.
