The winter transfer window is now just around the corner with some of world football's biggest names potentially on the move again.

Neymar smashed the world transfer record by swapping Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer but many closer to home could follow him in big money transfers in January with speculation about the futures of Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez and more refusing to go away.

Manchester City were the summer's biggest spenders splashing over £200m on new arrivals but Pep Guardiola isn't likely to stop there with a title there for the taking.

Crosstown rivals United were busy too and will want more despite adding Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof in the summer with Jose Mourinho keen on an attacking wide player and a new full back.

Liverpool struggled to get deals over the line and could still lose Coutinho while Chelsea are still in need of bodies as Antonio Conte continues to battle with a hectic fixture list.

Manchester United are ready to cut their losses on Luke Shaw and sell him in January, but could price many of his leading suitors out of the market by insisting on £20m for the left-back.

United signed Shaw from Southampton in 2014 for a then world-record fee for a defender, but after struggling to consistently prove his fitness and form at Old Trafford manager Jose Mourinho is ready to let him leave in the New Year.

Despite paying over £30m three-and-a-half years ago it is understood United would be willing to accept as much as £10m less now.

A section of Antoine Griezmann’s new autobiography will haveArsenal supporters wincing – as the 2016 Ballon d’Or nominee recounts waiting on a move to the north London club only to be snubbed.

Griezmann writes about how in the summer of 2013 he had attracted interest from Arsenal, with his former agent Eric Olhats in contact with Gilles Grimandi.

The France striker was in superb form having scored 10 goals in La Liga for Real Sociedad and was weighing up whether or not to stay at the Anoeta Stadium.

Arsenal were meanwhile looking to sign a new striker after seeing their now infamous bid of £40m plus £1 turned down by Liverpool.

Griezmann was aware of their interest and was keen on speaking to Arsene Wenger – only for the club to stall on making a decision before rejecting him.

Anthony Martial’s improved form and successful adjustment toJose Mourinho’s demands have changed the Manchester Unitedmanager’s thinking on his transfer plans, and it is now believed that it has finally “clicked” for the young French star.

Jose Mourinho labelled David de Gea as the best goalkeeper in the world following Manchester United's win over Arsenal, although De Gea was keen to put the team first despite his heroics.

The Spain goalkeeper produced a stunning one-man show as United emerged from the Emirates as 3-1 victors. Jesse Lingard (two) and Antonio Valencia scored but De Gea was the real hero – not that he let it show.

Asked by BT Sport if he had played better, he said: "It's a win. The team defended well for 90 minutes. It was a good game against Arsenal, we scored three goals but then lost control. It was difficult."

After a week to remember here's Jack Pitt-Brooke on why Jesse Lingard could well be Pep Guardiola's biggest headache this week.

Tottenham are ready to sell Danny Rose to Manchester United in January.

That's according to the Daily Star on Sunday.

Rose appears to be out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino and with a World Cup just over the horizon perhaps a move to pastures new is what he needs.

Could Luke Shaw move the other way?

Liverpool are apparently keen on Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabonese striker was available for upwards of £70m in the summer but none of his many suitors pulled the trigger.

The Sunday Express report that the Reds may do so next month though with Daniel Sturridge looking to finally be on his way out of Anfield.

The Sunday Mirror report that Manchester United are no longer willing to pay £100m for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale.

The injury prone Welshman has endured a difficult season thus far and it appears to have influenced United's opinion of him.

They remain interested but only value the former Spurs man between £50m and £60m.
