From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

There are less than two weeks remaining in the January transfer window and there have already been some interesting moves.

With the race for the top four and the battle to stay in the Premier League still open, January moves could prove crucial come the end of the season. Frank Lampard will hope Chelsea will make some moves after their transfer ban was lifted, while Mikel Arteta and Jose Mourinho, entering their first window with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, will be eager to boost their squads as they begin transforming their sides.

Liverpool have added depth to their squad with the acquisition of Takumi Minamino, while the Japanese star's ex-teammate Erling Haaland also moved on from Salzburg this month, with Borussia Dortmund prevailing in the hotly-contested race.

Serie A clubs, unsurprisingly, have been busy this month, with much more to come in the days ahead across the continent.

Here we rank the top 20 moves of the window, taking into account immediate impact regarding the outcome of the current campaign and their likely contribution, along with the potential for long-term success and for the player to appreciate in value.

Who is your best signing of the month so far?
