Many thought Everton took a gamble when appointing Roberto Martinez earlier this season but so far it seems to be paying off.

They are currently fifth, just a point off the Champions League places and have high hopes of making the top four at the end of the season.

After some astute work on transfer deadline day this summer particularly in the loan market, Everton fans will be hoping for more of the same this January as they look to keep their good run going.

Primarily it would appear that Martinez's men are in the market for some forward reinforcements with the exit of Nikica Jelavic leaving them a little short of quality up front.
