Arsenal are considering a sensational double swoop for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The club is allegedly lining up a £75m deal that would bring the pair to the Emirates, with Mahrez costing £35m and Lacazette valued at £40m. The move would help to significantly bolster Arsene Wenger’s front line as Arsenal search for their first Premier League title in 12 years.

Romelu Lukaku could yet still sign for his former club Chelsea, according to The Sun. The Toffees forward is determined to leave Goodison Park this summer and is hopeful of returning to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international has reportedly told friends that he has unfinished business at Chelsea and believes that a transfer back to the west London club is possible.

Swansea are ready to launch a bid to re-sign Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony, the Daily Express reports.

The Ivory Coast striker left the Swans for City 18 months ago in a deal worth £25m but he has since struggled to make an impact at the Etihad and has been consigned to watch from the sideline for much of the season.

Everton have emerged as favourites to land Bony but the Swans are confident they can bring their former player back to the Liberty Stadium.

West Ham have placed an £18m price-tag on defender Reece Oxford amid interest from Manchester United and Manchester City, the Daily Mail writes.

The two clubs are among a number of sides monitoring the 17-year-old who recently starred for England Under-19s as they went on to reach the semi-finals at the European Championships.

Oxford is currently involved in a contractual stand-off with West Ham and has already been subject to a £10m bid made by Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig which the Hammers rejected.

Sam Allardyce is likely to confirm tomorrow that Wayne Rooney will remain England captain. The Sun reports that the new boss is keen to hold onto Rooney’s experience as he looks to turn the national side around.

The FA are also aiming to arrange a friendly on September 1 for Allardyce’s first game as boss, with Czech Republic the likely opponents.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is battling to save his Manchester United career with the German facing the prospect of dropping to fifth-choice in midfield under Jose Mourinho.

As revealed by the Independent, the former Bayern Munich player is likely to find himself behind Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Morgan Schneiderlin in the midfield pecking order, as well as the world-class midfielder that Mourinho is pursuing, with Juventus's Paul Pogba remaining the priority target.
