The 27-year-old’s current contract runs out next year and he had been hoping for a lifestyle change this summer, with Real Madrid his clear preference.
The Spanish side have cooled their interest on Eriksen, however, with manager Zinedine Zidane prioritising Paul Pogba.
Atletico Madrid and Juventus have been mooted as possibilities, but the player’s options are currently limited and there is a willingness to sit down with Spurs again.
Eriksen had been offered to Manchester United, but he had little interest in moving to a Premier League rival currently outside of the Champions League.
If a deal cannot be agreed, Spurs would want to sell the player this summer, so as to not lose him for nothing next year.
His performance on coming on as a sub in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa, however, underlined his importance to the team.
