Roberto Soldado future: Tottenham striker a January transfer target for Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid

The Spaniard has failed to make much of an impact at White Hart Lane

Tottenham could be tempted to sell Roberto Soldado in January with offers from Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid expected.

According to the Evening Standard, the two European heavyweights are ready to make a move for the misfiring Spaniard when the transfer window next opens.

Since joining in the summer of 2013, Soldado has scored just 12 goals in 40 appearances. Considering the £26m fee Spurs paid Valencia for the striker it has been a disappointing return.

New Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been largely ignoring the 29-year-old since taking charge over the summer, with Soldado starting just one game this term, the Europa League play-off against Cypriot minnows AEL Limassol.

Emmanuel Adebayor has been the preferred option in attack with youngster Harry Kane given more time than Soldado.

Atletico and Inter both made enquiries for the striker over the summer without any success, but will try again when the window reopens in the new year.

The Spain international will have to accept a pay cut to trigger a move, but will consider offers in order to secure first team football elsewhere.
