From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Philippe Coutinho was the talk of the January transfer window a year ago, but there is already talk of him being on the move again after his life in Barcelona went south.

The Brazilian playmaker has simply yet to fully integrate at the Nou Camp and despite Barca's 6-1 win over Sevilla last night he was non-commital over his future.

"Nobody knows what will happen in the future," he told beIN Sports post-match.

"All I have in my head right now is to work hard."

Liverpool sold Coutinho to Barca for £142m a year ago, mainly using that income to fund a summer move for goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

With Barca struggling to integrate Coutinho, Malcom and Ousmane Dembele it's clear that not all of them can leave right now.

But it's equally clear that Barcelona's recruitment policy hasn't been up to much if there are this many signings struggling to fit in and being shopped on the market so soon.
