Italian giants Napoli, who are currently leading Juventus in Serie A, are interested in Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

The Frenchman joined Newcastle back in 2013 and after three successful seasons with the Magpies is receiving a lot of interest from various clubs.

The combative midfielder was picked up during Alan Pardew's time at Newcastle for a meagre sum of £1.5m, however, the Magpies now value the 26-year-old in the region of £25m.

Sissoko has scored 10 goals in 100 appearances for Newcastle but he now feels that it could be time to make a step up and challenge elsewhere.

A January move to Italy is off the table due to his commitments in the relegation scrap Newcastle are desperately trying to avoid. Also, with the European Championships this summer, Sissoko will need all the game time he can obtain in order to convince Didier Deschamps that he should be in the France squad.

In a recent interview with French media outlet Le Parisien, Sissoko mentions his desire to play Champions League football.

"I always want [to play in the Champions League], but everything is about timing. For now, I do not play it, but I'm patient. This may come in a year or two years. I await my hour calmly."
