Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy has threatened to leave the club, either "permanently or on loan" in January.
The Frenchman has lost his place as the Gunners' first choice full-back to Hector Bellerin this season, having recovered from the ankle ligament injury which ruled him out for three months last term.
Debuchy has said that he will demand talks with manager Arsene Wenger before the Janaury transfer window, as he needs to play before Euro 2016, which is being hosted in his native country.
"We talked about my situation in pre-season, I haven't talked to him recently, but we'll talk before the transfer window," Debuchy told French radio station RMC.
"I really need to play. [France manager] Didier Deschamps didn't call me for the last two games, so it's obvious, I've got to play more than I do, that's why I want to talk to Wenger soon.
"You can't be fit and mentally focused. And if I have to leave permanently or on loan to play, I will."
