Manchester United have reportedly made a record bid they hope will secure their next summer signing.
United have already secured deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this offseason but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to add more new faces before the window shuts next month.
Central defence remains an area of concern with Sky Sports reporting that an offer of £70m has been made for Leicester City's Harry Maguire.
However, it is understood that that offer - that would make the England international the most expensive English player ever - will be rejected as it doesn't meet the Foxes valuation.
It remains to be seen whether United increase their bid with rivals City also known to be interested.
There could be better news regarding long time target Bruno Fernandes, however, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that personal terms have been agreed between the two parties.
Sporting are looking for upwards of £50m for their star midfielder, a figure that shouldn't be out of reach of big-spending United.
Another new arrival could be Wissam Ben Yedder who appears to be Solskjaer's preferred striker signing.
The Sevilla striker has a £35m release clause in his contract with the Express reporting that he has agreed personal terms on a switch.
Newcastle's Sean Longstaff could be another incoming with Solskjaer particularly keen on the young midfielder.
The Daily Star report a deal could be struck as soon as this week with the Magpies valuing the youngster at around £25m.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Dean Henderson could join Marcus Rashford in putting speculation over his own future to bed with a new deal too, before heading back out on loan.
Paul Pogba has told former Juventus teammates he would like to re-sign for the Turin club during the birthday party of Andrea Barzagli, according to a report in Italy.
United are rumoured to be in early talks with Inter Milan about the possibility of selling Romelu Lukaku to the Serie A club, but the two sides are way apart on their valuation.
Inter are hoping to do an initial loan deal with a view to making the move permanent totalling £62m, but United want to recoup most of the £75m they paid Everton for the striker.
In a more far-fetched piece of news from Italy and Tuttosport, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given his representatives the green light to move to Old Trafford should they come chasing him in the event of Lukaku’s departure, though exactly how Arsenal would feel about such an approach is less clear.
