From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. According to Juventus’ director general Beppe Massota, there has been “no contact” between the two clubs, suggesting that there is still some legs in this summer’s biggest transfer rumour.
The Serie A club may yet offer Pogba a new contract, according to Goal, as they attempt to extend his stay at the Juventus Stadium until 2021.
James Rodriguez is open to the idea of a move to Old Trafford, according to Marca.
The Colombia international wishes to stay at Real Madrid but, having struggled to hold down a starting position under Zinedine Zidane, he accepts his future may lie away from the Spanish capital.
Rodriguez would only be allowed to leave Los Blancos for around €80m (£67m) and has also reportedly attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and West Ham United.
One of the more doubtful rumours to be doing the rounds involves Joe Allen travelling up the A580 and parking outside Old Trafford.
The Liverpool midfielder has been linked with United, West Ham, Stoke City and Swansea City, according to the Essex Chronicle.
Allen, who was included in Uefa’s ‘Team of the Tournament’ for this summer’s European Championships, would become the first player to swap sides in English football’s greatest rivalry since Phil Chisnall’s £25,000 move in 1964.
It seems unlikely, to say the least.
