Manchester United are the favourites to capture Burnley's Danny Ings when the striker's contract expires this summer.

Ings has caught the attention of many suitors in his debut Premier League season, scoring nine times for the relegation-threatened side.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the England Under-21 international.

However, as talkSPORT reports, Louis van Gaal's side are set to win the race for Ings' signature, having entered advanced talks with his representatives.

The striker who flew to Spain for talks with David Moyes' Real Sociedad in February, is said to wish to stay in England.

As he is under the age of 24, United will be forced to pay Burnley a compensation fee, which is expected to be in the region of £5 million.

Ings' arrival could mean an exit for either Radamel Falcao or Robin van Persie. Both players have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford this summer.
