David de Gea is Real Madrid’s number one priority following the suspension of their transfer ban, according to Spanish newspaper AS.

The La Liga giants are ready to do their utmost in order to capture the Manchester United goalkeeper, who was widely expected to move to the Santiago Bernabeu until the deal collapsed at the eleventh-hour last summer.

De Gea subsequently signed a new four-year contract to stay at Old Trafford but that will be no deterrant to president Florentino Perez, who is apparently desperate to bring the Spain international home.

In slightly less believable news, Neymar is a step closer to securing a move to United, according to The Sun.

Apparently, Barcelona are keen to bring Juventus’ in-form frontman Pablo Dybala to the Nou Camp, paving the way for the Brazilian to leave and United chief executive Ed Woodward to make the marquee signing he has always wanted.

Renato Sanches continues to be linked with a switch to the north-west of England too.

The Benfica youngster’s name has cropped up time and time again this month, despite a release clause of £60million, and the Daily Star now report that United are willing to meet them halfway.

The 18-year-old has been scouted by a number of top European clubs in recent weeks and Woodward and co. have stolen a charge on their rivals, meeting officials from Benfica in London last week.

Finally, onto outgoing affairs, Nick Powell is closing in on a loan move to Hull City.

Steve Bruce is confident that a deal can be completed before Monday’s deadline and it may spell the end of the 21-year-old’s Old Trafford career, with his contract at United expiring in the summer.
